BIO
Charlie is a Scottish actor and comedian specialising in characters, puppetry, audio and improv. She has taken four solo shows to the Edinburgh Fringe, is a regular on the London alternative comedy circuit and is part of Weirdos Comedy.
She's written for BBC Scotland, Hat Trick Productions and BBC Radio 4 and worked with Griff Rhys Jones on his UK tour. In 2021 her sitcom pilot was shortlisted for the Triforce-UKTV WriterSlam and the Funny Women Comedy Writing Awards. She was a finalist in the Leicester Square Theatre's Sketch Off! 2023 and is currently in the finals for the Funny Women Stage Award.
In 2014, Charlie moved from Edinburgh to London to complete her Diploma in Writing and Producing Comedy at the NFTS with Channel 4. (She also has an MA in Italian and Modern History from St Andrews.) For the past year she has been receiving mentorship from Soho Theatre and regularly works in both Edinburgh and London.
Charlie has a background in dance, physical theatre and puppetry. She has performed improv comedy for over 14 years and is a professional improv coach and teacher. Last year she also expanded her knowledge of clowning at the Ecole Gaulier in Etampes.
